In this dynamic role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the daily operational processes in the warehouse during the evening shift (14:30–23:15). Occasionally, you may be required to work on Saturdays, in which case you’ll get a day off during the week. You are a leader who knows how to motivate people, streamline processes, and maintain oversight in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. As a Shift Leader, you take the lead in coordinating order-picking and warehouse activities. You assign tasks within the team, ensure clear handovers between shifts, and act as the go-to person for operational issues. You’ll work closely with the Warehouse Supervisors to find solutions and identify areas for improvement. You see opportunities for enhancement and are not afraid to address them.
You’ll be functionally managing the warehouse floor staff, ensuring proper task distribution, a safe working environment, and performance aligned with set KPIs. You’ll also be responsible for daily staffing plans, including for the various temperature-controlled areas of the warehouse. You actively guide new team members, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles. Additionally, you place high importance on safety and compliance with procedures. You ensure that all regulations, especially those related to (food) safety, are followed.
When working alongside another Shift Leader, you’ll actively participate in daily operations and take on tasks as needed to support the team. Whether it’s moving goods or checking outgoing orders, you step in wherever necessary.
